How does FemBloc work?

FemBloc triggers a natural healing response that blocks a small section of the fallopian tubes with your own tissue.

FemBloc Step 1

Step 1

Ultrasound is used to confirm there is no fluid/blood in your uterine cavity.

FemBloc Step 2

Step 2

FemBloc delivery system is placed in the uterine cavity and positioned towards both fallopian tubes.

FemBloc Step 3

Step 3

Blended polymer is delivered into both fallopian tubes.

FemBloc Step 4

Step 4

FemBloc delivery system is removed, leaving the blended polymer behind for a short period of time.

FemBloc Step 5

Step 5

A small section of each tube is blocked with your own scar tissue to prevent pregnancy.

What to expect during the FemBloc procedure?

Before

  • The FemBloc procedure will be scheduled during the first half of your menstrual cycle.
  • You cannot be bleeding, spotting or leaking fluid prior to the FemBloc procedure.

During

  • FemBloc delivery system will be gently placed into your uterine cavity.
  • Blended polymer will then be delivered to both fallopian tubes.
  • The delivery system will be removed and blended polymer will remain for a short period of time.

After

  • Mild spotting/bleeding or cramping may occur after the procedure.

Why choose FemBloc?

How is FemBloc confirmed successful?

A standard ultrasound confirms your fallopian tubes are blocked, so you can rely on FemBloc with confidence.

You must use another form of birth control (other than an IUD) until your fallopian tubes are confirmed blocked after the Confirmation Test. Not using birth control during this time could result in pregnancy.

How does the Confirmation Test work?

A thin catheter is placed in your uterine cavity and FemChec creates bubbles (saline and air) to confirm with standard ultrasound that both fallopian tubes are blocked with your own tissue.

FemChec Step 1

Step 1

Ultrasound is used to take a quick look at your uterus.

FemChec Step 2

Step 2

A thin catheter is placed in your uterine cavity. FemChec is attached to the catheter.

FemChec Step 3

Step 3

FemChec creates bubbles delivered through the catheter to evaluate your tubes with ultrasound.

FemChec Step 4

Step 4

After evaluation, the catheter is removed. Results may be provided now or after a review of your test.

FemChec Step 5

Step 5

If both of your tubes are blocked, you can rely on FemBloc for permanent birth control.
